Discovery of Skin uses Contact Improvisation as a physical metaphor. Contact is defined as the communication between two moving bodies that are in physical contact and their combined relationship to the physical laws that govern their motion; making one’s self ready for a range of shifting constraints. Discovery of Skin adapts this concept to; the communication and navigation of two racially distinct bodies (black and white) and their relationship to the laws that govern their interaction.
